Happy September, Perry Elementary!
I want to extend a compliment to all students and staff as we had a successful week completing our safety drills. Thank you to all parents and families for preparing students and discussing school safety protocols at home with your children. Next week on Wednesday, September 9th, students in Grades K-4 will participate in Bus Safety in collaboration with our Department of Transportation. A parent pamphlet has been provided and can be accessed here. If you have any questions regarding bus safety, you can contact the Director of Transportation, Randy Usher at (440) 259-9200 X9006 or via email usherr@perry-lake.org.
Our staff is excited to host our first schoolwide assembly of the year that will officially launch our PEEPs House System for the year. During our opening assembly, students will be able to sit with their house(s). We will celebrate student success so far and review our behavior expectations. We even have a surprise guest appearance planned from our school community. If possible, please encourage your child to wear his/her house color as we work to build school culture and pride. If you are unsure of house placement or color, please reach out to your child’s teacher. Also please note that Kindergarten color days have been changed to accommodate this request (see dates in the newsletter below).
I hope that you enjoy the extended weekend…remember there will be no school on Monday, September 7th in honor of Labor Day.
